The Edge has reported in 2009: "The Industrial appearance of Section
13 in Petaling Jaya, Selangor may give way to commercial properties
if a proposed Special Area Plan for the area is gazetted - which can
be seen recently with the developments of commercial properties such
as Jaya One and Jaya 33, as well as other developments especially
along the main road. It is also reported that the area of Section 13
is deemed to be too valuable to remain an industrial enclave due to
the limitations of spaces for commercial properties.
The conversion to a mixed development opens up the door to many
possibilities, which would undoubtedly delight land owners who wish
to further develop their properties. Apart from that, there is a
possibility for Section 13 to apply for MSC status post-conversion,
which will greatly benefit the area as it would attract
multi-national corporations - inevitably rendering the enclave a
vibrant commercial hub.
